Qualifications

• Must read and understand basic drawings, sketches, and work instructions.
• Basic knowledge of metals is an asset.
• Able to use measuring tools (Metric & Imperial).
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong work ethic; able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail when cleaning, preparing, and organizing parts.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Clean, prep, and organize steel parts prior to fabrication or welding.
• Kit parts and materials according to drawings, work orders, or supervisor instructions.
• Assist welders and fabricators by staging, moving, and preparing materials and components.
• Grind, deburr, clean, and inspect parts as required.
• Load, unload, and move materials safely within the shop using appropriate equipment.
• Perform general shop housekeeping, including sweeping, waste removal, and maintaining organized work areas.
• Operate basic hand tools such as grinders, drills, and measuring tools as trained.
• Assist with basic shop equipment operation (saws, drill press, ironworker, etc.) as required and trained.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment as trained.
• Follow all safety procedures and participate in pre-use inspections.
• Support production teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of work.

Position Summary

Morskate Manufacturing is expanding in a big way! We're adding 90,000+ sq. ft. to our facility and investing in exciting new technology as we continue to grow. With this expansion comes an exciting opportunity—we are currently seeking a dependable and hardworking Labourer
to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, you will play a key support role in daily shop operations by preparing materials, assisting welders and fabricators, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This position is well-suited for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to an efficient production workflow.

We offer competitive starting wages beginning at $21 - $26 per hour, with final rates determined by your experience, skill level, and how well you align with the role.
