Job summary

Assegai seeks a structural drafting professional to prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings from engineers' designs and mark-ups for concrete and steel structures. You will produce general arrangement and detailed drawings, ensure accuracy, and update drawings as revisions arise.

You will coordinate with engineers and the project team, maintain drawing registers, and assist with tender, construction and as-built drawings as required. Based near Westville or able to commute to the office.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare structural engineering drawings using AutoCAD. Produce detailed drawings from engineers designs, sketches and mark-ups. Prepare general arrangement and structural detail drawings. Assist with drawings for reinforced concrete, structural steel and other structural elements as required. Amend and update drawings in accordance with engineering comments and project revisions. Ensure drawings are accurate, clearly presented and compliant with company drafting standards. Coordinate drawing information with engineers and other project team members. Maintain drawing registers, revisions and project documentation where required. Assist with the preparation of drawings for tender, construction and as-built purposes.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Draughting would be advantageous.
• Previous experience in structural engineering draughting or detailing.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD .
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches, designs and technical information.
• Understanding of structural drawing conventions and construction detailing.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively with structural engineers and other members of the project team.
• Based within reasonable travelling distance of Westville or able to commute to the office.

Preferred / Advantageous Experience

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

• Reinforced concrete detailing.
