Job summary

Englobe is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join the Ottawa office and contribute to a variety of buildings and building science projects with the Structural team.

You will support planning, coordination and delivery of structural services, participate in site investigations, assist with engineering studies and prepare technical reports, drawings and specifications under the supervision of licensed Professional Engineers, while upholding Englobe's safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural option) from an accredited university.
• EIT registration with PEO is an asset.
• Academic or co-op experience in structural engineering or construction is an asset.
• Exposure to structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE or SAFI.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structural site investigations, inspections and reports.
• Assist assessment and documentation of existing structural conditions.
• Support calculations and design of structural elements (concrete, steel, masonry, wood).
• Prepare and coordinate project deliverables: technical reports, drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Project Managers, clients and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the Engineering team to meet project objectives related to scope, schedule and budget.
• Apply Englobe health and safety policies at all times.
