Job summary

PTW Energy Services in Calgary is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to lead design from concept through fabrication and field installation for industrial and commercial steel structures. You will collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure practical, manufacturable solutions that meet safety and quality standards.

The role includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

P.Eng. in good standing with APEGA.
5+ years of experience designing Canadian industrial and commercial steel buildings.
Strong knowledge of NBC, CSA S16/S136/S59, and related codes.
Experience with structural software Graitec Advance Design, STAAD.Pro, S-Frame or similar.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design for industrial and commercial steel structures.
Ensure designs meet NBC/CSA standards and provincial codes.
Review and approve fabrication, shop, and field drawings.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure practical, manufacturable designs.
Support fabrication and construction with technical input and site inspections as needed.
