Job summary

Leading Edge in Manitoba, Canada, seeks a Structural Engineer for a full-time, permanent role focusing on the design, review, and stamping of structural steel connections for industrial and commercial projects.

You will work with drafting, detailing, and fabrication teams to deliver code-compliant, shop-ready solutions, applying Canadian standards and CWB welding requirements. The position offers CAD $110,000-$130,000 depending on experience and stamping expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• P.Eng designation in Manitoba or eligibility for immediate registration.
• 3–5+ years of structural engineering experience with steel connection design exposure.
• Experience stamping and sealing engineering drawings and calculations.
• Strong knowledge of steel connection design and constructability.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA, STAAD, or S-Frame.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and approve welded, bolted, shear, and moment steel connections.
• Prepare, review, stamp, and seal engineering drawings and supporting calculations.
• Ensure designs comply with Canadian standards, codes, and CWB welding requirements.
• Review shop drawings and 3D models for accuracy and constructability.
• Collaborate with drafting, detailing, fabrication, and production teams.
• Provide technical support for RFIs, site inquiries, and field design clarifications.
• Resolve engineering and fabrication challenges while maintaining safety and project requirements.
