Job summary

LeadingEdge HR Solutions is recruiting a Structural Engineer in Manitoba, Canada, to join a well-established structural steel and fabrication firm. The role focuses on the design, review, and approval of steel connections for industrial and commercial projects, ensuring code-compliant, shop-ready solutions.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5+ years of experience in structural engineering with exposure to steel connections, stamping, and sealing drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• P.Eng designation in Manitoba or eligibility for immediate registration.
• 3–5+ years of structural engineering experience with direct steel connection design exposure.
• Experience stamping and sealing engineering drawings and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and approve welded, bolted, shear, and moment steel connections.
• Prepare, review, stamp, and seal engineering drawings and supporting calculations.
• Ensure designs comply with Canadian engineering standards, applicable codes, and CWB welding requirements.
• Review shop drawings, fabrication details, and 3D models for accuracy and constructability.
• Collaborate with drafting, detailing, fabrication, and production teams to develop practical solutions.
• Provide technical support for RFIs, site inquiries, and field-related design clarifications.
• Resolve engineering and fabrication challenges while maintaining safety, quality, and project requirements.
