Job summary

Confidential Jobs in Edmonton seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the design, analysis and review of fabricated aluminum and steel assemblies across projects in the construction products sector.

You will be the senior technical point of contact for the Edmonton team, coordinating with sales, production and clients, reviewing drawings, and guiding junior engineers toward their P.Eng journey. This is a hands-on leadership role demanding presence on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of structural engineering experience in building, architectural, industrial or fabrication environments.
• P.Eng registered and in good standing with APEGA, or transferable.
• Ability to act as a Responsible Member under an APEGA Permit to Practice.
• Experience leading engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta Building Code and the National Building Code of Canada.
• Familiarity with FEA software and advanced structural analysis methods.
• Proven ability to interact with sales, production and clients.
• Willingness to work in Edmonton office.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Inventor or SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of fabricated aluminum and steel assemblies and weldments.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports and design packages.
• Review and approve shop drawings and installation details.
• Conduct finite element analysis and other numerical structural analyses.
• Evaluate existing structures and develop retrofit solutions.
• Lead engineering activities across multiple projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with sales, production and clients on technical feasibility.
