Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Structural Engineer for a Kimberley, Canada project focused on heavy industrial facilities. You will design and analyze steel and concrete structures, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with industry codes.

Work with multidisciplinary teams, perform site assessments during construction and commissioning, and develop detailed drawings and calculations for plant facilities. This role offers strong growth and exposure to major industrial developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience focused on the structural design of heavy industrial facilities.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software, especially STAAD.Pro and ANSYS.
• Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, and specialized industrial coatings.
• Strong understanding of relevant industrial codes and standards (AISC, ACI, SANS).

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for heavy industrial structures, including steel and concrete components, pipe racks, and equipment supports.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications for industrial facilities.
• Ensure designs meet stringent safety standards, operational requirements, and codes specific to industrial environments.
• Conduct site assessments and provide structural engineering support during construction and commissioning phases.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to integrate structural designs into the plant layout.
• Review contractor submittals and resolve structural issues during construction.
