Job summary

6ixDesign Inc. in Toronto seeks a Structural Engineer to support building projects from initial structural analysis through permit submission and construction documentation. This hands-on role involves running calculations, producing drawings, sitting in coordination meetings, and taking ownership of work under licensed engineers.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of professional structural engineering design experience on building projects.
• Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and CSA design standards (A23.3, S16, O86, S304).
• Experience coordinating structural design with architectural and mechanical teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for low-rise and mid-rise buildings.
• Prepare structural calculations that are clear and auditable.
• Develop structural drawings and specifications in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Assemble structural permit packages and respond to examiner comments.
• Support renovation, addition, underpinning, and existing-building assessments.
• Coordinate with architectural and other consultants to resolve conflicts.
• Conduct site reviews and assist during construction administration.
• Prepare technical reports and structural condition assessments.
• Ensure designs comply with codes and municipal requirements.
