Job summary

Toronto Structural Engineers in the Greater Toronto Area is seeking a self-motivated professional to lead residential structural projects from start to finish, working primarily from a home office in a hybrid setup.

You will perform structural analysis, produce CAD drawings, conduct on-site inspections, and ensure compliance with Ontario Building Code, collaborating with architects, contractors, and clients while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Active P.Eng license in Ontario; licensure in other provinces is an asset.
• Residence in the Greater Toronto Area.
• 4–15 years of structural engineering experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a Canadian university.
• Proficiency in structural analysis, calculations, and CAD tools.
• Familiarity with Ontario Building Code and local Toronto requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver practical solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Experience with residential renovations, additions is a strong asset.
• Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Conduct on-site inspections in and around the City of Toronto to assess structural integrity.
• Detailed design work in wood, concrete, and steel for residential and small commercial projects.

• Screw pile installation verification and conformance review (training provided).
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and Ontario regulations.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Miscellaneous civil and structural engineering tasks as required.

The Role This is a full-time hybrid position based in the Greater Toronto Area. You will work primarily from a home office and must be available Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required for site visits.

Compensation $80,000 – $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
