Job summary

6ixDesign Inc. in Toronto seeks an Architectural Manager to lead multiple architectural projects and a team of staff while staying hands-on with drawings. You will run projects, review sets, join coordination meetings, and make technical calls alongside our in-house engineering teams.

The role reports to the principals and offers growth within a collaborative, integrated studio that values fast decisions and accountable delivery across residential, commercial, and institutional work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a recognized university.
• 6–10 years of architectural experience, including Canadian experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and permitting processes.
• Experience delivering low-rise/mid-rise residential, multiplex, commercial, or institutional projects.
• Proven ability to manage projects through feasibility to construction administration.
• Solid technical grounding in building systems, detailing, code compliance, and coordination.
• Experience coordinating architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and landscape drawings.
• Experience managing project schedules, deliverables, budgets, and client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple architectural projects from feasibility to construction administration.
• Set project strategy, scope, and delivery approach.
• Assign tasks and supervise architectural staff, interns, and technologists.
• Review drawings, specs, and permit packages for accuracy and coordination.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors, and municipal reviewers.
• Lead project meetings and coordination sessions; drive action items.
• Support proposals, planning, fee allocation, and resource management.
• Maintain design quality and documentation standards across the portfolio.
• Resolve technical, design, and permitting issues and make key calls.
