Empowering Strategic Growth

As the Strategy Consultant, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Home Hardware, one of Canada’s most trusted retail brands. The role will support the development of Home Hardware’s long-term strategy and help guide strategic planning and decision-making processes. Led by the Chief Legal Officer, this opportunity suits someone with experience in collecting and analyzing insights, along with strong presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting the development and implementation of corporate and business unit strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  2. Conducting in-depth analyses of market trends, competitive landscapes, and industry opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
  3. Assisting in formulating long-term strategic initiatives and roadmaps.
  4. Collaborating with senior leadership to identify key business challenges and recommend solutions.
  5. Monitoring industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  6. Synthesizing complex data and research into actionable insights and recommendations, leveraging technologies including machine learning, data visualization software, and AI.
  7. Preparing high-quality PowerPoint presentations, reports, and dashboards to communicate strategies, insights, and recommendations to executives and stakeholders.
  8. Ensuring all deliverables are visually engaging, data-driven, and aligned with the organization’s messaging and objectives.
  9. Translating complex analyses into simple, impactful narratives for diverse audiences.
  10. Assisting in setting performance metrics and benchmarks to evaluate the success of strategic initiatives.
  11. Monitoring and reporting on the progress of strategies, recommending adjustments as needed.
  12. Supporting the development of tools and frameworks to track industry dynamics and organizational performance.

Qualifications we’re looking for:

  1. Diploma in Business Administration or Commerce with at least 3 years of experience in strategy and business development, preferably at a strategy consulting firm or large company.
  2. Ability to collect, analyze, and gather insights from various data sources, including through the use and coding of artificial intelligence.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
  4. Proven planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  5. Excellent time management and project management abilities.
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  7. Ability to handle complex situations thoughtfully and confidently.
  8. Ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, accommodating our hybrid work model.
