Job summary

GreenShield is seeking a Strategic Underwriting Analyst in Ontario to support the Underwriting Department by aligning activities with the Annual Operating Plan. You will analyze data, generate KPI-focused reports, and collaborate across Finance, Risk Management, and Operations to identify opportunities for profitability and growth.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, documentation, and providing insights to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. ASA or in progress towards ASA preferred.
• 2-3 years of underwriting, financial analysis, or a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Director of Underwriting to develop strategic plans for new business and for retaining existing business.
• Analyze underwriting data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement; generate regular reports.
• Ensure underwriting activities align with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and report KPIs to senior leadership.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce administrative effort.
