Job summary

EXP in Burnaby, BC is seeking a meticulous Project Accountant to support engineering and design initiatives with precise financial reporting and analysis. You will work in a fast-paced environment, partnering with project teams to keep projects on budget while maintaining accurate cost control and timely invoicing.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, 3–5 years in project accounting, strong Excel and ERP skills (Deltek preferred), and CPA consideration as an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in project accounting or financial management.
• CPA designation or working toward CPA is an asset.
• Experience in engineering or construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting activities including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Prepare and review monthly project financial reports and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and client contract requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers to monitor financial performance and resolve discrepancies.
• Process invoices, track billings, and manage accounts receivable for assigned projects.
• Support internal audits and assist with year-end financial processes.
