Job summary

The City of Edmonton is seeking a Procurement Program Manager for Waste Services to lead strategic sourcing and governance of procurement activities. You will guide complex, high-value contracts and supervise a team to ensure cost-efficient service delivery to Edmonton households.

You will partner with legal, risk, and internal stakeholders to align tender outcomes with policy and safety standards, while reporting to steering committees and executives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and six years of progressively responsible experience in contract or supply chain management.
  • Diploma and eight years of progressively responsible experience in contract management or supply chain.
  • SCMP or Contract Management designation is preferred.
  • Experience leading performance reporting within a large, complex organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and develop long-term procurement strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers and executive leadership.
  • Negotiate terms, draft and manage complex contracts, oversee PO processes.
  • Provide mentorship to a team, ensuring continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Collaborate with legal, risk, and business areas to maximize contract value.
  • Oversee tendering, reporting, compliance, and master agreements with in-house counsel.
