Job summary

Trench Canada, part of Trench Group, is offering an on-site full-time student internship in procurement and sourcing. You will engage in supplier qualification, RFQ coordination, and contract support while collaborating with planning, engineering, and cross-functional teams.

You will learn to manage supplier relationships, review adjustment requests, and help develop strategic sourcing strategies in a dynamic energy‑tech environment. CAD 24–26 hourly, on-site employment.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant post‑secondary programme (e.g., Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time-management and organisational skills.
  • Self-driven, resourceful, and able to work independently and in groups.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project qualification activities and ensure project momentum and stakeholder alignment.
  • Review, assess, and negotiate adjustment requests and payment term changes with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate RFQ requirements and project demand with planning and engineering teams.
  • Manage supplier relationships with regular performance reviews and KPI-focused follow-ups (OTD, lead times, quality).
  • Develop strategic sourcing strategies and negotiation plans to meet procurement objectives.
  • Prepare and issue bid solicitation packages ensuring completeness and compliance.
  • Coordinate supplier tender submissions and support internal inquiries during sourcing and evaluation.
  • Review and maintain SOPs and create work instructions for operational consistency.
  • Facilitate supplier onboarding and SAP vendor setup processes.
  • Coordinate NDAs with suppliers and business partners.
  • Support the preparation, review, and execution of supplier and commercial contracts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in procurement activities.

Your Tasks
  • Manage project qualification activities, ensuring strong project momentum, stakeholder alignment, and successful execution of project objectives.

  • Prepare and issue bid solicitation packages, ensuring completeness and compliance with organisational requirements.
  • Coordinate supplier tender submissions and provide support for internal inquiries throughout the sourcing and evaluation process.
  • Review, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and create work instructions to support operational consistency and compliance.
  • Facilitate supplier onboarding and SAP vendor setup processes.
  • Coordinate and execute Non‑Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with suppliers and business partners.
  • Support the preparation, review, and execution of supplier and commercial contracts.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and support procurement and sourcing activities.
