Job summary

Interac Corp. is seeking a senior Government Relations Lead to drive policy and regulatory initiatives across Canada.

You will shape strategy, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and advise senior leaders on politically sensitive issues related to payments and the digital economy. Reporting to the Head of Government Relations & External Affairs, you will engage with government officials, industry groups and external advisors, ensuring compliant governance and delivering high‑quality policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public policy, political science, law or related field is required.
• 10+ years in government relations, public policy or regulatory affairs with senior decision-makers.
• Strong policy analysis and writing for political/government audiences; bilingualism is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead policy and regulatory work from strategy through submissions and publications.
• Monitor and translate policy developments into business implications for leadership.
• Plan proactive and reactive advocacy ahead of major legislative milestones.
• Develop briefing notes, policy papers, and external-facing materials.
• Represent Interac on industry committees and with public sector partners.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on politically sensitive issues.
• Ensure governance and compliance across jurisdictions; manage external advisors.
