Job summary

Thyssen Mining seeks a Material Sourcing Manager to lead strategic sourcing and procurement of materials, parts, consumables, and services for mining projects. The role collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Project Management, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure material availability aligned with project schedules.

Bilingual French-English required, with in-office work in Regina, Toronto, or Sudbury.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
• Bilingual in French and English with strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience negotiating supplier pricing, supply agreements, and commercial terms.
• Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, procurement best practices, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
• Experience in mining, industrial, construction, or similar environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for materials, parts, consumables, and services.
• Identify, qualify, and evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, availability, lead times, and reliability.
• Lead competitive sourcing processes, including RFQs, bid evaluations, and negotiations.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, warranties, service levels, and terms.
• Monitor supplier performance and address issues to find effective solutions.
• Support contract renewals, amendments, pricing structures, and commercial terms.
