Job summary

The City of Leduc invites applications for the Manager, Community Development. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the Community Development portfolio, including capacity building, theatre, arts, culture and heritage, and related spaces.

You will drive planning, capital projects and community wellbeing in a growing municipality. Reporting to the Director of Community & Social Development, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, manage a $2.5M operating and $9M capital

Qualifications

Post-secondary degree in a relevant field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience leading and supervising a similar portfolio.
Experience with financial processes, including budgeting and financial reporting.
Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in or with municipal government is an asset.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the extended leadership team (Leads), Coordinators and support staff.
Set priorities across portfolios and allocate resources effectively.
Manage staffing and performance; oversee training and succession planning.
Build strategic relationships with community organizations and partners and represent the City on initiatives.
Prepare and monitor operating and capital budgets and ensure accountability and reporting.
