Loblaw Companies Limited in Canada is seeking a Senior Manager, Legal Affairs – Supply Chain to advise on commercial contracts, regulatory matters, and operations across Canada and the US. You will shape strategic partnerships, vendor and carrier agreements, and cross-border arrangements to support a fast-growing transportation business.

You will partner with operations, procurement, technology, and risk teams to enable growth while managing legal risk.

Qualifications

• A law degree and membership in good standing with a Canadian provincial law society. U.S. license is an asset.
• Approximately 7+ years of relevant legal experience in a leading law firm or in-house legal department.
• Strong commercial contracting experience and excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
• Experience advising transportation, logistics, supply chain, fleet, delivery, mobility, or retail businesses is an asset.
• Understanding of independent contractors and alternative workforce models in Canada and the U.S.
• Experience supporting multi-provincial and cross-border business activities is an asset.
• Strong commercial judgment and risk assessment in evolving legal/tech business models.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with competing priorities.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide practical, business-focused legal advice on commercial, regulatory, and operational matters in transportation and logistics.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements, including transportation and carrier agreements, logistics contracts, independent contractor agreements, vendor and supplier agreements, technology agreements, service agreements, and strategic partnerships.
• Support transportation, logistics, fleet, delivery, and related operations by advising on relevant legal and regulatory requirements in Canada and the US.
• Partner with procurement and business teams to enable the growth of the transportation and logistics business.
• Provide legal guidance on new products, technologies, partnerships, and operating models, helping teams find practical ways to innovate while managing legal and regulatory risk.
• Monitor relevant legislative, regulatory, and legal developments across Canada and the United States and assess their potential impact on the business.
• Work with internal specialists and external counsel on employment, tax, regulatory, litigation, and jurisdiction-specific matters as needed.
• Develop scalable legal tools, including contract templates, playbooks, policies, and risk frameworks.
• Support dispute resolution, claims, regulatory inquiries, and commercial escalations.
• Translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice for senior leaders and operating teams.
