The role will have a particular focus on commercial contracting, transportation and logistics, contractor and service‑provider arrangements, and cross‑border legal and regulatory matters.

What You’ll Do

  • Support dispute resolution, claims, regulatory inquiries, and commercial escalations.
  • Translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice for senior leaders and operating teams.
What You Bring

  • Approximately 7+ years of relevant legal experience gained in a leading law firm, in‑house legal department, or a combination of both.
  • Strong commercial contracting experience and excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Experience advising transportation, logistics, supply chain, fleet, delivery, mobility, retail, technology, or another operationally complex business is an asset.
  • A strong understanding of legal issues related to independent contractors and alternative workforce models in Canada and the United States.
  • Experience supporting businesses across multiple Canadian provinces and U.S. states is an asset.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to assess risk in areas where business models, technology, or regulation are evolving.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment with competing priorities and a high degree of ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and stakeholder‑management skills.
What Will Make You Successful

You are a pragmatic lawyer who understands that great legal advice should help the business move forward. You are entrepreneurial and driven to help grow an exciting and expanding business.

You are comfortable working in areas where the law, regulation, technology, and operating model may all be evolving at the same time. You know when to identify a hard legal boundary, when to escape, and when to help the business find a practical path forward.

You can move easily between complex contract negotiations, regulatory interpretation, operational problem‑solving, and strategic discussions with senior leaders. You are curious, collaborative, responsive, and comfortable working at pace.

This role offers the opportunity to help shape the legal framework around a rapidly growing transportation business and to play a meaningful role in enabling innovation across both the Canadian and U.S. markets.
