Job summary

The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) in Calgary is seeking an IT Purchasing Analyst for a one-year term to lead IT procurement, vendor management, and cost governance initiatives. You will help optimize procurement processes, maintain audit-ready documentation, and support governance across IT spend.

You will partner with Finance, Legal, and Privacy to ensure compliant contracting, with a hybrid work arrangement and a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Three to five years of procurement or financial services experience.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Experience with budgets, forecasting, invoice reconciliation, and spend reporting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate with Finance and Legal.
• Working knowledge of ERP software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate project cost data in financial systems and code costs to projects.
• Support invoice reconciliation and resolve discrepancies with vendors and accounting.
• Maintain procurement records, budgets, and contract documentation.
• Assist with forecasting procurement costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate RFP, RFI, and RFQ processes for IT hardware, software, cloud services, and professional services; consolidate evaluation results with GC Office.
• Assist with pricing, terms, and conditions negotiations with vendors for optimal value.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Privacy teams to support contract drafting and execution and ensure policy compliance.
