Job summary

The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) is seeking a seasoned Team Lead to join the IT PMO. You will translate portfolio priorities into actionable execution, lead PMO operations, and drive governance, reporting and delivery across multiple IT projects in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience leading or delivering complex IT projects and PMO functions.
• 3–4 years of experience leading delivery teams and coaching others.
• Strong skills in project planning, scope and schedule management, budgeting and reporting.
• Knowledge of PMO governance, portfolio management and project controls.
• Experience coordinating resources across multiple projects in a matrixed environment.
• Effective leadership and stakeholder engagement; strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• PMO training or certification (PMP/PRINCE2/Agile/Lean) desirable; Azure DevOps experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day PMO operations, provide guidance to Project Managers and ensure delivery excellence.
• Oversee project intake, prioritization, resource allocation and capacity planning.
• Coordinate governance, stage-gate reviews and reporting to support management decisions.
• Serve as PMO owner and power user for Azure DevOps Portfolio Management and reporting.
• Develop PMO training materials and onboarding to ensure consistent standard adoption.
• Monitor delivery risks, non-compliance and systemic trends with corrective actions.
