Job summary

City of Fort Saskatchewan is seeking a Business Partner, People Services to act as a strategic advisor on workforce planning, employee relations and HR best practices. This role supports Directors, Managers and Supervisors across a portfolio of departments.

The successful candidate will bring a Diploma or Degree in HR/Business, plus a Workplace Investigations Certificate; CPHR is an asset. Public sector and unionized environment experience are valued, with strong MS Office and ERP/HCM

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in HR, business or related field and a Workplace Investigations Certificate.
• CPHR designation and public sector/unionized experience are assets.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic People Services advisor to Directors, Managers and Supervisors.
• Partner with leaders on workforce planning, staffing, succession, retention, engagement and priorities.
• Provide expertise on organizational reviews, restructuring, change initiatives, position design and job evaluation.
• Interpret and advise on employment legislation, policies, procedures and HR practices.
• Lead and advise on complex employee and labour relations matters, including investigations and performance management.
• Supervise and support People Services Generalists and escalate complex HR matters.
• Provide workforce insights and updates to leadership and contribute to business planning.
