Job summary

Thunder Bay Pulp & Paper (TBPP) seeks a Human Resources Business Partner to align people strategies with mill objectives and drive safe, reliable performance. You will partner with leaders, shape workforce plans, and diagnose organizational needs to improve effectiveness.

You will operate with autonomy, influence leaders, and report to the Director of Human Resources, supporting labor relations and engagement across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in human resources, business administration, commerce or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive human resources experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience in a unionized environment with strong understanding of collective agreements.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AI tools is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of employment standards, human rights and labour legislation.
  • Proven excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Superior collaborative and teamwork skills with the ability to shift priorities.

  • Strategic HR partnership: align people strategies with operational priorities.
  • Workforce performance & continuous improvement: analyze trends and implement solutions.
  • Employee & labour relations: support unionized environment, investigations, grievances.
  • Employee engagement & culture: strengthen engagement and fair practices.
  • Data & business insights: translate metrics into actionable recommendations.
