Job summary

University of Waterloo is seeking an experienced Human Resources Partner to provide strategic HR advisory services to senior leadership across faculties and departments. You will guide employment strategies, ensure compliance with Ontario laws, and support workforce planning and employee relations initiatives.

The role requires CHRL designation or equivalent, a university degree, and 5+ years of HR advisory experience. A collaborative, data-driven approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• University undergraduate degree or equivalent; CHRL designation preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive HR advisory experience.
• Experience with Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, OHSA.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic HR advice to senior leaders and align solutions with university objectives.
• Counsel managers on employee/labour relations, performance management and disciplinary matters.
• Support recruitment, salary administration, job evaluation, onboarding, and training initiatives.
• Lead workforce planning and support change initiatives across departments.
