Job summary

The Nature Conservancy in Canada seeks an Associate HR Director to lead a geographically dispersed HR team across Canada and the Western United States. You will partner with senior leaders to define and implement strategic HR direction aligned with our conservation mission and values.

You will supervise a small HR team, drive organizational design, pay equity, talent development, and HR service delivery while ensuring compliance with Canadian employment law and global standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
• 8+ years HR experience in a global, matrixed environment.
• Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. employment law (FLSA, ESA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the People Team in Canada and the Western U.S. to deliver strategic HR direction.
• Provide strategic counsel on organizational design, workforce planning, and resource optimization.
• Oversee compensation, pay equity analysis, talent development, and HR programs.
• Develop HR standards and client service practices across business units.
• Supervise a small HR team and coach staff for high performance and psychological safety.
