Job summary

The City of Spruce Grove is seeking a GIS Manager to lead all aspects of the City's Geographic Information Systems. The role involves supervising the GIS team, defining standards, and aligning GIS initiatives with corporate objectives.

You will report to the Director of Information Systems and operate within a full-time, IUOE-affiliated position. Key duties include developing GIS strategy, integrating GIS with business data, and improving enterprise GIS operations across the organization.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in GIS or equivalent.
• Ten (10) years related experience.
• Strong knowledge of geomatics data analysis and GIS deployments.
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop/Server.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD software.
• MS SQL Server and T-SQL proficiency.
• Experience with GIS data modeling and integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a corporate GIS strategy and governance.
• Supervise GIS team; manage timelines, milestones, and standards.
• Integrate GIS with corporate data and applications.
• Provide guidance to internal clients and stakeholders in GIS usage.
• Oversee daily operations of enterprise GIS and ensure security and performance.
• Lead training and coordinate with City Management to enhance workflows.
