Job summary

City of Regina is seeking a GIS Technician to maintain and support GIS/CAD data and related workflows for Infrastructure Records and Mapping Services. The role focuses on data accuracy, standard-compliant mapping, and assisting with basic spatial analysis for City operations, external agencies, and the public.

Qualified candidates have a two-year GIS/CAD or Geomatics diploma, with preferred eligibility for SASTT. The position is office-based with occasional field/site visits and a two-year term.

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma in GIS, CAD, Geomatics or related discipline.
• Eligibility for SASTT registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, update, and support GIS and CAD data and processes.
• Perform data entry, validation, and updates to ensure accuracy.
• Contribute to quality control by applying validation checks and reporting discrepancies.
• Assist with basic geospatial analysis and map creation for operations and external clients.
• Create visual outputs and mapping products using templates under supervision.
