Job summary

Canadian Red Cross is seeking a Lead Finance Specialist - Funding Partnerships in Canada. This permanent, full-time role provides specialized financial leadership for major funding-partner agreements supporting Domestic Emergency Management programs.

You will oversee budgets, forecasts, reporting, and compliance across funded activities, collaborating with program leaders and stakeholders to ensure sound financial stewardship.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of relevant experience in finance, FP&A, accounting, program finance, or financial management
• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (CPA designation considered an asset)
• Experience supporting grants, contribution agreements, restricted funding, or large externally funded programs an asset
• Strong analytical, financial modelling, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders
• Effective communication, influencing, and business partnering capabilities
• Proficiency with financial systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Act as primary finance contact for assigned major funding-partner agreements
• Maintain consolidated oversight of budgets, forecasts, expenditures, commitments, and recoveries across functions
• Monitor funding utilization and identify risks, including overspending or funding lapses
• Support proposal development, budget revisions, forecasts, and close-out activities
• Provide financial advice to support management of funding agreements
• Prepare and coordinate financial reporting required by funding partners
• Develop dashboards, performance reports, and financial summaries for leadership
• Support development and monitoring of budgets for funded initiatives and programs
• Develop forecasts and financial projections, monitor key cost drivers
• Provide recommendations on resource allocation and funding strategies
