Job summary

Ombudsman in Toronto seeks an experienced Manager, Finance and Facilities to lead the Office's Finance and Facilities functions. This hands-on role requires strong accounting knowledge, judgement, and team leadership to ensure accuracy, controls and timely results.

You will oversee accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, year-end activities, payroll, cash management, purchasing and financial controls, while also guiding the Facilities function.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
• Significant experience managing an accounting or finance function.
• Demonstrated experience leading and supervising finance professionals.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, internal controls and financial policies.
• Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliations and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Finance function and meet critical deadlines.
• Supervise Finance and Facilities staff and drive performance.
• Oversee accounting records, controls, and policy compliance.
• Coordinate month-end/year-end close, reconciliations, and audit support.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
