Job summary

Metrolinx is seeking an Funding & Financing Account Manager to lead and coordinate funding submissions for capital projects across federal, municipal, and other programs. The role requires preparing funding requests, financial analysis, and strategic planning to support future funding needs.

This in-office, permanent position works closely with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Business or Accounting (Master's preferred), strong relationship

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Accounting, or related discipline.
• Experience in federal/provincial/municipal relations is an asset.
• Accounting designation is an asset.
• Understand complexities of large transfer payment programs like federal funding programs/payments.

Responsibilities

• Lead federal funding strategy and proposal development by identifying future federal funding opportunities and coordinating project selection across business units.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and negotiations with internal and external partners to resolve funding, reporting, compliance, and program delivery issues.
• Lead input into contribution agreements by defining funding requirements, reporting obligations, and compliance expectations, and oversee ongoing monitoring and reporting.
• Prepare, review, and submit federal funding claims, including eligibility assessments and cost categorization.
• Develop and maintain forecasts by analyzing project expenditures and coordinating with project teams and finance partners.
• Provide strategic advice to stakeholders by challenging assumptions and ensuring funding submissions meet requirements.
• Coordinate the development of planning reports and briefing materials for management and presentations.
• Oversee the integration of financial analysis and reporting packages to support senior management decisions.
