Job summary

Family Service Toronto is seeking a Manager, Finance to lead day-to-day accounting, budgeting, reporting and compliance across multiple programs. The role sits on the leadership team and coordinates with program managers to safeguard public funds and ensure financial integrity.

The successful candidate will oversee audits, government funding, internal controls and ERP systems, while guiding staff and driving continuous process improvements in a dynamic nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
• Experience in the non-profit sector or government-funded contracts is preferred.
• Experience supervising finance staff.
• Experience managing multi-program budgets and government-funded contracts.
• Experience supporting annual audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable and payroll reconciliations.
• Ensure timely financial reporting in accordance with ASNPO.
• Maintain integrity of financial records and systems.
• Monitor cash flow and banking activities.
• Coordinate annual budgeting across departments and forecasts.
• Prepare reports for funders and regulators.
• Lead internal controls and audit processes.
• Collaborate with program leaders on financial planning.
• Develop improvements to financial processes and systems.
