Job summary

The University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology, seeks a Business Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across its administrative functions at the St. George campus.

You will lead a unionized team, oversee finances, HR, academic administration, and facilities, and foster collaborations with university and hospital partners to advance teaching and research.

Qualifications

• University degree in business, accounting, or finance or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Minimum five years of progressive administrative, financial and HR management experience, preferably in a university or hospital.
• Experience with budget planning, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting.
• Experience leading staff in a unionized environment and managing change.
• Experience planning conferences and events and handling space/facilities matters.
• Knowledge of university budget models, policies and HR standards.

Responsibilities

• When the Department Chair, provide strategic and operational leadership across finance, HR, academic/educational administration and space/facilities.
• Lead a unionized administrative team, ensure effective operations and report on financial performance.
• Build strong relationships with University and hospital partners to support teaching and research priorities.
• Apply sound financial judgment to advance departmental goals and compliance with policies.
