Reporting to the Director of Cancer Program, the Radiation Program Manager strategically plans, directs and evaluates the quality and performance of the Radiation Program. As a strategic leader within the Cancer Program, the Program Manager ensures alignment of program activities with the overall strategic directions and goals of the Cancer Program. This position interacts and collaborates with all levels of the interprofessional team, patients and families, members of leadership team of all departments.

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Plan, directs and evaluates quality and performance activities within the Radiation Program, consulting with all related programs. Review all processes to ensure an efficient, effective and high-quality level of program operation is being maintained.
• Works collaboratively to promote effective team operations.
• As a leader and member of the leadership team, is responsible and accountable for the coordination and direction of all patient care related activities within the area.
• Prepare and manage the budgets in consultation with the Director, Cancer Program. Review and revise budget as required.
• Collaborate with staff within the Radiation Program to introduce new activities or techniques, respond to requests for new services and improve the overall service and technical quality of the planning and treatment delivery processes. Ensure that all relevant Federal and Provincial Legislation requirements are met concerning the radiation safety of Cancer Program.
• Leads the team in implementing evidence-based practices that are sensitive to limited resources within a person-centered care philosophy.
• Establishes and monitors the program goals, objectives and the annual work plans in accordance with strategic directions and goals of the Cancer Program. Take action as needed to promote, recognize, and ensure optimal performance.
• Accountable for meeting established program and OH-CCO performance targets.
• Ensure that information accuracy, integrity and confidentiality is maintained in accordance with Cancer Program and OH-CCO policies.
• Develop policies and standards for radiation program in collaboration with other program members. Review and revise policies as appropriate.
• Promote excellence in patient care and reflecting the vision, goals and objectives of the Program and OH-CCO.
• Represent the program on internal and external committees by providing advice, consultation and leadership to all levels in the Program.
• Establish and facilitate quality management activities, in collaboration with other team members, in order to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the program.
• Assist with the assessing the need for staff training and development, as necessary to ensure maximum program effectiveness and in accordance with program, OH-CCO and WRH policies and procedures. Provide and/or arrange for required training and development activities including in house training, attendance at seminars, conferences, etc.
• Participates in strategic service programming and delivery of services in support of the Erie St. Clair Regional Cancer Program.
• Provides an environment that supports and advances professional practice.
• Role models professional and organizational core competencies.
• Performs other duties and assignments as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• BSc in Radiation Sciences is required.
• Master’s degree in Health/Business related studies is considered an asset.
• Advanced certification considered an asset.
• CMRITO registration is required.
• CAMRT and/or OAMRS registration is preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of practical related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated supervisory/management experience is required.
• Demonstrated organization, analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• CPR certified.
