Job summary

Equitable in Waterloo, ON, is seeking a Corporate Accounts Consultant to drive profitable growth and client retention through risk assessment, pricing, and formal RFP responses for new and renewal business across all complexity levels. You will train and coach Group Underwriters, support divisional initiatives, and contribute to underwriting process improvements.

The role is hybrid, based in Waterloo, with two consecutive in-office days every other week plus a monthly fifth day.

Qualifications

• College or University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of Group benefits knowledge and experience.
• Strong understanding of Group benefits underwriting principles and practices.
• Proven ability to assess risk, analyze complex data, and make sound underwriting decisions.

Responsibilities

• Complete risk assessment, analysis, pricing, and formal proposal responses for new business opportunities across all complexity levels.
• Evaluate and respond to requests for alternate funding arrangements while ensuring adherence to established underwriting practices.
• Review and assess requests for alternate costings on existing business and provide recommendations based on risk and profitability analysis.
• Generate accurate underwriting proposals that meet company standards and service levels.
• Make informed decisions on case-specific Administrative and Claim Exception requests respecting risk.
