Job summary

Equitable in Waterloo, ON is seeking a Business Analyst Consultant in Individual Wealth Operations to lead complex IT and business transformation initiatives. You will act as a primary liaison between Business and IT, guiding requirements, MVP scope, and testing practices while mentoring others.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with office presence in Waterloo and opportunities to influence enterprise-wide solutions and capabilities.

Qualifications

• Lead Business Analyst on large IT projects within financial services or insurance.
• Expert-level knowledge of BA methodologies, processes, tools, and techniques.
• Experience in process redesign, including data modeling and risk analysis.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience coaching and training Business Analysts and UAT testers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead or sole Business Analyst on large IT projects, liaising between Business and IT for scope, requirements, and issue resolution.
• Lead requirements gathering and documentation, develop functional/non-functional requirements, user stories, and features aligned to business goals.
• Assess technology solutions, review estimates, determine MVP to balance benefits with costs, timelines, and risks.
• Develop feasibility studies, business cases, and strategic recommendations to support tech strategies and process improvements.
• Collaborate with Systems Analysts, developers, QA, and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs and provide a good user experience.
• Coordinate and support UAT activities, including planning, test case development, execution, and post-implementation validation.
• Lead business process redesign and modernization, driving implementation and change management across the business.
• Develop and enhance BA and UAT practices, including coaching and training at all levels.
