Job summary

Lancaster Group is seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to lead finance, controls and reporting for a multi-trade construction environment in Hamilton, Ontario. The role partners with ownership and senior leadership to drive profitability and growth.

The CFO will guide budgeting, forecasting and KPI development while overseeing a transition from Sage 300 to Maestro ERP, ensuring data integrity and scalable processes across projects and operations.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience in construction.
• Minimum 4 years in multi-trade construction environments.
• Minimum 3 years in unionized construction environment.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, internal controls.
• Experience with ERP implementation or significant system improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company's overall financial strategy, planning and reporting.
• Provide timely, accurate financial information and analysis to support decisions.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Establish and maintain strong financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Oversee project financial management: costing, WIP and profitability analysis.
• Collaborate with project managers and operations to strengthen forecasting and cost control.
• Lead the transition from Sage 300 to Maestro ERP.
