Job summary

British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is seeking a Strategic Asset Allocation co-op student/intern for Winter 2027 (January–April) to support investment strategy and risk activities from our Victoria office. You will contribute to ALM studies, policy reviews, and macroeconomic analyses for clients across BC and Canada.

Qualifications

• Fundamental knowledge of basic business and investment-related disciplines.
• Clear and concise written and oral communication.
• Professionalism and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Interest in investment management and willingness to learn.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing client asset-liability studies and investment policy recommendations.
• Support management of the product shelf with client-focused rationale for pooled funds.
• Help update long-term capital market assumptions and economic scenarios.
• Ensure we meet or exceed client service expectations.
• Coordinate client meetings and develop supporting materials for engagements.
• Prepare written materials and presentations on investment topics for meetings and staff.
• Contribute to ad-hoc projects as assigned by the team.
