The department comprises 5 branches: Strategic Asset Allocation, Total Fund Management, Investment Risk and Growth and Investment Solutions.

The Strategic Asset Allocation team consists of three major workstreams. The Global Macro workstream conducts research and models relevant macroeconomic developments, including assessment of the current business cycle dynamics and research of emerging economic or financial trends, opportunities, and risks. The ALM workstream assists clients with developing tailored investment policies that achieve investment objectives consistent with their investment philosophies, funding policies and risk tolerances. The Client Relations workstream’s focus is on building long‑term relationships with clients based on trust and to ensure that we exceed our client’s investment performance and service expectations.

Successful candidates will gain valuable exposure to all three workstreams while working on the SAA team.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Conduct macroeconomic and market research on topics such as monetary policy, inflation, and geopolitical risk, and help produce recurring macro data summaries for the team.
  • Assist with Long-Term Capital Market Assumptions (LTCMAs), including data pulls, returns analysis, peer comparisons, and methodology refinement as needed.
  • Help translate complex macroeconomic analysis into clear, well‑styled outputs for senior investment and executive audiences.
  • Support quarterly scenario modelling, narrative development, and maintaining signpost/monitoring frameworks.
  • Build and maintain quantitative analysis and exhibits using Python, Excel, and econometric software, and support dashboard development in Power BI.
  • Ad‑hoc projects and tasks assigned by the team.
  • Conduct independent research and prepare reports/presentations on a wide range of investment topics for client meetings and for internal staff.
  • Assist with client education by producing written materials and educational presentations.
  • Actively adheres to compliance and risk management policies and participates in BCI’s business continuity plan.

  • Enjoy building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and team members.
  • Demonstrates an extremely strong work ethic and displays initiative to strive to deliver value above and beyond the job description.
  • Has relevant prior co‑op experience.
  • Preference will be given to students who have shown initiative and a passion for the investment industry.
REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Keen interest in investments and a drive to continually learn about financial markets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism with strong interpersonal skills.
