Capital Power is seeking a results‑oriented strategist to help shape the company’s long‑term direction in North America. You will evaluate lower‑carbon opportunities, model business cases, and deliver insights for senior leadership across sustainability, markets, and growth initiatives.

The role requires collaboration with cross‑functional teams, external partners, and governance bodies, with a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to influence energy strategy and enterprise resilience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant industry experience in energy generation, sustainability, strategy, venture development, consulting, or commercial analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with senior stakeholders and manage cross-functional initiatives.
• Understanding of emerging energy technologies and lower carbon pathways.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate lower‑carbon and new venture opportunities through market research, business case development, financial modeling, and strategic analysis.
• Assess commercial viability, technical readiness, scalability, risks, and strategic fit of emerging opportunities.
• Conduct market, competitor, customer, and technology intelligence to identify trends and define strategic interest.
• Develop analyses that support executive decision‑making related to sustainability and venture growth opportunities.
• Support sustainability reporting and disclosure obligations and communicate performance information.
