The Floor Show Winnipeg is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function, oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls within the business unit. You will develop the team and ensure compliance with corporate policies.

Reporting to the Vice-President, you will collaborate with parent-company finance teams, manage payroll, audits, and tax filings, and provide financial analysis for strategic decision-making. A CPA designation is preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or related discipline.
• Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing a full-cycle accounting function.
• Minimum three years of accounting experience in a retail or manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls and account reconciliation processes.
• Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and accounting software.

Responsabilidades

• Overseeing month-end and year-end close processes to ensure complete, accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Supporting cash flow forecasting and capital expenditure reporting.
• Preparing annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring financial performance, investigating significant variances and providing recommendations to leadership.
• Developing, documenting, implementing and monitoring effective internal controls, accounting procedures and financial practices consistent with parent-company requirements.
• Reviewing financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
• Supporting external audits, tax filings and regulatory reporting requests, including the preparation and review of supporting documentation.
• Reviewing and approving payroll submissions, including commissions, bonuses and other pay adjustments, for processing.
• Identifying and communicating significant accounting, tax and internal control matters requiring management attention.
• Maintaining a functional relationship with the Regional Controller and collaborating with parent-company finance teams on technical accounting, reporting, policy and compliance matters.
• Overseeing fixed asset accounting, including asset additions, disposals, depreciation and reconciliation to capital expenditure records.
• Leading, supervising, coaching and developing the Accounting team members, while promoting a collaborative work environment.
• Providing financial analysis, ad hoc reporting and support for business planning, operational decisions and special projects.
