Alberta Health Services is seeking a Stores I at Canmore General Hospital to pick, pack, ship and receive hospital supplies, equipment and food. You will process requisitions, distribute supplies and complete cart audits to ensure quality and accuracy.
You will communicate with stakeholders to maintain appropriate stock levels and track inventory to prevent overstocking. The role requires English fluency, ability to lift up to 25 kg, and reliable, detail-oriented work with basic computer skills.
As a Stores I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the picking, packaging, shipping and receiving of orders for hospital supplies, equipment and/or food in accordance with established guidelines and standards. You will process incoming requisitions and distribute supplies, complete cart audits for quality assurance and communicate frequently with stakeholders to ensure appropriate and correct quantities of supplies are available. In addition, you will track and report on inventory to ensure over stocking does not occur.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275 Kgs.Must be capable of walking and or standing for long periods of time.Must regularly use hand and arms to reach, lift, and carry heavy items up to 25 kg.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to read, write and comprehend English fluently. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, customers and vendors.Attention to detail and ability to work with limited supervision. Reliable, cooperative and able to demonstrate effective service attitude.Maintain a positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities. Experience in the use of a computer and Microsoft software. Able to occasionally move pallets, using manual jack, exceeding 1200kg requiring a pushing force of 20kg. Available to report to work within 60mins.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a computerized inventory control system. Experience in shipping and receiving, warehousing and material handling.Knowledge and understanding of aseptic techniques. Knowledge of TDG and WHMIS.
