Job summary

University Food Services (UNFS) at the University of Victoria is seeking a qualified procurement teammate to support high-volume purchasing and receiving operations across campus dining venues and catering.

The role requires Grade 12, Food Safe Level 1, a valid Class 5 BC driver's license, and strong time-management, accuracy, and customer service skills. Familiarity with Excel/Outlook and suppliers’ portals is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience in a high volume purchasing and receiving environment is required.
• Education: Grade 12; Food Safe Level 1 certification; Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg, push/pull up to 25 kg.

Job description

University Food Services (UNFS) is the primary provider of food and beverage services at the University of Victoria. UNFS provides meals to students, staff, faculty and external clients through several retail and residential dining venues as well as its catering division, Degrees Catering. UNFS currently operates retail venues across campus ranging from small grab and go cafés to high volume food court operations.

Experience

• Minimum three years’ experience in a high volume purchasing and receiving environment is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialized Knowledge/Education

• Completion of Grade 12.
• Valid Food Safe Level l Certification.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a driving abstract.

• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work safely and follow health and safety procedures as established by UNFS policy.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
