Job description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? Our Storage Technical Analyst provides first-level storage and backup infrastructure support for RBC globally. You will support and manage RBC’s global NAS, SAN, and Cloud environments, including storage allocation, data replication, monitoring, performance, and capacity analysis. You will assist in implementing and supporting hardware, software, and telephony systems that provide infrastructure for customer support. You will apply your experience, skills, and best practices to perform a variety of assignments.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

1. Implement and maintain disaster recovery hardware and failover/failback processes from a storage perspective.
2. Support backup infrastructure implementation and management, including Data Domain, D2D (Disk-to-Disk), and encrypted tape backups.
3. Fully integrate into the global storage support model, providing 24x7 support for all RBC storage infrastructure components on a 2-week shift rotation (12-hour shifts from 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am, totaling 75 hours biweekly, Monday to Sunday).
4. Engage regularly with storage support and engineering teams.
5. Assist with hardware installation and hands-on activities.
6. Ensure storage security and conduct auditing.
7. Translate business needs into technical requirements and perform tasks to ensure technical availability.
8. Interpret operational results, analyze usage patterns, and establish schedules and procedures for optimal system utilization.
9. Maintain reports and reporting tools for traffic management, service centers, and enterprise partners.
10. Collaborate with other organizations to develop solutions for anticipated technical needs supporting business objectives.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Must have:

• BA, MA, or MS degree or equivalent with emphasis in Information Technology & Systems Administration.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Storage Administration role.
• Solid understanding of NAS, SAN, networking, naming services, and general IT concepts.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Availability for 24x7 on-call support for emergencies and issues.
