Job summary

SAIT’s Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) seeks an experienced Standard First Aid Instructor to deliver on-site training at Calgary Correctional Centre. The role requires instruction of approximately 10 courses per year and collaboration with regulatory partners.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of teaching experience, Red Cross instructor certification, and strong communication skills in English. Calgary-based position with on-site delivery and on-campus collaboration.

Qualifications

• Certified Standard First Aid Instructor with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience.
• Authorized Red Cross Provider.
• Experience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).
• Fluent in English reading and vocabulary.
• Comfortable speaking to the public.
• Positive & respectful attitude.
• Ability to read, interpret and deliver specific curriculum.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to organize and present written information.
• H2S Alive Instructor certification would be an asset.
• Training and knowledge of adult learning fundamentals.
• Formal training or education in facilitation or teaching.
• Formal training in online technologies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Standard First Aid training on-site at Calgary Correctional Centre.
• Schedule and run in-person training sessions Monday to Friday within calendar constraints.
• Interpret and present curriculum clearly to adult learners.
