Job summary

Zytech Buildings Systems is seeking a Stair Builder for its location in Airdrie, AB. The role focuses on the timely assembly of prefabricated stairs and participation in shop maintenance and QA/QC and safety programs.

Responsibilities include cutting and preparing materials, measuring lumber, organizing the workspace, and reporting issues to the Production Manager. Candidates should have at least 1 year of carpentry experience and be able to lift 50 lbs, with English literacy required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of carpentry/framing experience.
• Basic math skills are required and the ability to use an imperial tape measure.
• Read, write and understand English.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Steel-toed boots and PPE provided.

Responsibilities

• Cut all material for packages.
• Inspect and measure precut lumber for length and quality.
• After completing an order, build next orders or report to Production Manager.
• Organize tools, materials and workstation; dispose of waste properly.
• Inspect and maintain tools and machinery; report problems to Production Manager.
• All other duties as assigned by Production Manager.

Job description

ZyTech is looking for a Stair Builder for our location inAirdrie, AB.Reporting to department supervisor, the stair builder is responsible for the timely and accurate assembly of prefabricated stairs as well as participating in routine shop maintenance and involvement in the ZyTech’s Quality Control (Q.C.) and Health/Safety programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cut all material for packages
• Inspect and/or measure precut lumber for proper length and possible damage or other irregularities associated with quality control and standard operating procedures
• Upon completing an order, the builder will proceed to build subsequent orders or report to the Production Manager for further instructions
• Thorough and complete organization of tools, materials and workstation and the cleaning and/or disposal of waste is required at all times
• Regular inspection and maintenance as required for tools and machinery, and any problems or irregularities to be reported immediately to the Production Manager
• All other duties as assigned by Production Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 1 year of carpentry/framing or related experience is required
• Use and maintain various hand tools and pneumatic tools
• Previous construction experience considered an asset
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs throughout the day
• Basic math skills and the ability to use an imperial tape measure is required
• Steel-toed work boots and appropriate clothing to work outside are required, PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
