Job summary

TIFF is hiring a Stage Manager for TIFF: The Market in Toronto, overseeing technical show calling and production coordination for live programming. You will work with internal teams, artists and vendors to ensure seamless delivery of stage operations and venue requirements to the highest standards.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Production Services, you will manage run of show updates, event timing, and post-event reporting, with timely post mortems as part of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years Stage Managing live events.
• Excellent technical understanding of technical aspects.
• Specific technical experience with large stages and theaters.
• Strong managerial, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Proficiency in Google Suite, MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
• Self-starter who is highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Attention to detail; able to work on multiple events.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Stage Manager, Market and primary show caller for live events at TIFF: The Market.
• Collaborate with the Technical team to update Run of Show on event day.
• Coordinate with Front of House on milestones, audience flow, and End of Show timing.
• Communicate with Event Coordinator and Senior Manager about changes affecting production or billing.
• Liaise with Events and Venue teams to prep talent, speakers, and programmers backstage.
• Review event details, schedules, and Run of Show docs and identify risks.
• Provide Stage Manager reports and timesheets after each event and submit to management.
• Submit Post Mortem notes by the end of September after TIFF: The Market.
