Job summary

IBM Software is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Secure Compute Platform, building a multi-tenant, cloud-native compute substrate on Kubernetes that safely runs trusted and untrusted workloads at scale. You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and drive security, reliability, and performance across global clusters.

You will collaborate with product and platform teams to deliver scalable APIs and controllers (Go) and ensure observability, incident response, and cost efficiency

Qualifications

• 10+ years delivering backend or infrastructure software in production.
• Proven track record leading large-scale, highly available systems.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes and Go.

Responsibilities

• Define technical direction for Secure Compute platform.
• Design and implement Kubernetes controllers/operators in Go for workload lifecycle, autoscaling, isolation.
• Partner with product and platform teams to shape roadmap for Secure Compute.
• Deliver initiatives in workload scheduling, rollout strategies, and resource management.
• Lead technical design reviews and mentor engineers across teams.
• Own operational excellence for Secure Compute services, including availability and incident management.
