Integration Network (OIN) in Canada is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own and lead complex platform initiatives that power many customers daily. Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Deep proficiency in Java or a comparable strongly-typed backend language.
• Proven experience designing, building, and operating complex, large-scale distributed systems in a cloud environment.
• Real depth in identity and access protocols (OAuth 2.0/OIDC, SAML, and/or SCIM).
• Experience designing and evolving APIs and integration frameworks with backward compatibility and developer experience in mind.
• Security- and compliance-aware mindset with real-world impact.
• Ability to apply AI tools across the development lifecycle and promote adoption.
• Excellent written communication and ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery and technical scoping for new requirements, turning ambiguous product asks into concrete architecture and phased plans.
• Design and evolve APIs, data models, and security posture for integrations with backward compatibility.
• Drive technical decisions across multi-team dependencies and align stakeholders when the right answer isn’t obvious.
• Modernize and evolve a large, long-lived production system incrementally without disrupting customers.
• Maintain a high bar for security, testing, and code quality, with urgency on customer-impacting work.
• Own production health by performing root-cause analyses and improving observability.
• Champion AI-native engineering practices and help the team adopt them effectively.
• Mentor engineers and represent the team’s technical point of view in cross-functional forums.
